Darlak and the Buffalo Touch celebrated their third year together
by recording a new CD, For Our Friends.
Featured
on this CD are: Jerry Darlak--IPA Hall of Famer, leader and concertina
artist; Ken Machelski-vocals, trumpet, trombone, concertina, piano
& mini-accordion; Ray Barsukiewicz--sax, clarinet, trumpet,
vocals, arranger & composer; Mike Kurdziel-drums & business
manager; Tom Miniszewski-clarinet, sax, honky drums & backup-up
vocals; Steve Michaels-piano, guitar, bass & vocals, and Bill
Barnas --bass, violin and concertina.
The
seven members of the band combine to produce a unique and appealing
sound. Enthusiastic fans were delighted to hear selections from
this release which included original tunes created by talented
artist/composer Ray Barsukiewicz . He is credited with song titles
such as "Too Many Lies", "My Treasure", "Kay's
Polka", "Dance A Polka", "For Our Friends",
"Lost Rose", and "Jesse's Polka"."Jesse's
Polka" was named for the lounge at the Polish Villa II--
the location for the hit TV show "Jesse". There's even
a special offering from "Country" Steve Michaels.
This
album will surely become a favorite by many for years to come.
